Over the past two decades, women's health has become recognized as an important public health issue requiring the development of a distinct research and clinical discipline. The definition of women's health has evolved beyond reproductive health issues to include all health concerns experienced by women across their lifespan. With Ohio State University’s nationally renowned experts in many areas of women's health and with the new Clinical and Translational Research Award, we are uniquely positioned as an organization to bring focus on novel clinical and translational studies in women’s health. These areas include genetic, endocrine and psychosocial issues of women and their health. The OSU Center for Women’s Health (CWH) will serve as a model for women's health care uniting basic science, clinical, population, translational research, comprehensive clinical care, medical education, and public health awareness and education.
The OSU CWH in collaboration with the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) formed from the CTSA collaborative grant is announcing a Request for Applications (RFA) that will advance our understanding of the complexities that are unique to women’s health and disease. These research awards are designed to initiate pilot funding and support new research teams. A maximum of 3 awards will be given, not to exceed the amount of $40,000 per award (no indirect costs allowed).
