Columbus, Ohio is the 16th largest city in the U.S., with a thriving metropolitan area of 1.75 million people. Its temperate climate, high quality of life, strong economy, vital downtown, and low cost of living make it one of the most livable and exciting cities in the U.S.

If you like sports and recreation, try the PGA Memorial Tournament at Muirfield or watch The Ohio State Buckeyes football team play at Ohio Stadium. Take on the challenge of the Columbus Marathon. Or hike through any of the nearly 15,000 acres of metropolitan and city parks. If you like night life, you can catch the Gallery Hop on the first Saturday night of every month in the Short North, Columbus's own Soho. Dance to a Reggae beat at a downtown club. Or hear the Columbus Jazz Orchestra in concert. The Schottenstein Center, on the OSU campus, is not only home to the Buckeye basketball team, but serves as a forum for major concerts and entertainers who bring their shows to Columbus. If you are a lover of the arts, you will enjoy the fact that Columbus has more art galleries than cities such as Baltimore or Miami. The Wexner Center for the Arts is right on campus. Columbus is the home of three beautifully renovated theaters - the historic Ohio Theatre, the Palace Theatre, and the recently reopened Southern Theater. Opera Columbus performs three grand operas yearly. The Fifth/Third Bank Broadway Series brings six or seven traveling Broadway productions to Columbus each year. The Columbus Symphony and Ballet Met have performances throughout the year.

Shopping in Columbus is better than ever. Easton Town Center opened in 1999 and offers sidewalk shopping at the finest stores with selection of merchandise you would find between New York City and Chicago, with stores like Anthropology, Nordstrom, Crate and Barrel, and Restoration Hardware. There are over 70 shops and a 30-cinema theater complex, as well as many restaurants. Polaris Fashion Place is located just north of Columbus. Dining in Columbus is diverse - from Lindey's brunch and Katzinger's deli to the outdoor cafes of Grandview Avenue. Enjoy continental, Thai, Greek, or Korean. You'll find it all right here in the middle of America.

Year 2000 ushered in our new NHL hockey team - the Blue Jackets - who play at the Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus. This state-of-the-art arena also hosts everything from rock concerts to demolition derbies. The Columbus Crew, a professional soccer team, plays a full season at their new stadium near the State Fairgrounds. The Columbus Clippers, the AAA afiliate of the Cleveland Indians, play at the newly built Huntington Park which was recently named "2009 Best Ballpark of the Year.

For urban living, you can settle into one of Columbus' historic restored neighborhoods, either Victorian Village or German Village. There is also the Short North area. which is literally minutes from the medical center. You can travel from downtown to any one of Columbus' 15 suburbs in less than 30 minutes. Our freeways are fast and relatively stress-free when you're driving home or into the city. The Port Columbus International Airport is no more than minutes away from most locations.

Young, college-educated professionals flock to Columbus for the career opportunities it offers. It's a hub of scientific and technical information, with Battelle Memorial Institute, Chemical Abstracts, and Ross Laboratories headquartered here. It also is the home of American Electric Power, Limited Brands, Nationwide Insurance Company, and Wendy's International. In the past several years, many major computer and software corporations have opened major branch offices in Columbus. Since it's the capital of Ohio, Columbus is the center of state government. It's also a town that thrives on education: We have 15 colleges and universities in the central Ohio area, plus excellent urban and suburban public school systems. The Ohio State University is among the largest universities in the nation with approximately 60,000 students. It offers every major imaginable from accounting to Eastern languages to performing arts to polar sciences. There are also Colleges of Law, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine located on our main campus.
