Dr. Eisenhauer specializes in the surgical and medical care of women with gynecologic cancers. When possible, he favors minimally invasive procedures to treat these cancers, and has additional training in fertility-sparing surgery for select patients with early cervical cancer. He has a special interest in improving the treatment of women with advanced ovarian cancer and in the surgical management of recurrent gynecologic cancer in appropriate patients.
As a national and international leader in gynecologic research, physician-scientists at The James Cancer Hospital have taken a leading role in designing, monitoring and publishing research work of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, an international clinical research organization. Dr. Eisenhauer is an active member of this group.
Dr. Eisenhauer received his medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York
